About: Princess Alexandra Hospital (Harlow)

I recently had to visit the Alexandra Day Unit for a angiogram I have had this procedure 3 times now on arrival I was in number two bed, the beds were filled with more people for the same procedure. The doctor came around told us what was going to happen and sign the consent form in, starting his work load with the person from bed number 5. After his return the doctor came out and was told that it was wrong and they said he went in first because he works at the hospital as a painter is this normal practs if so i think thick it stinks i pay my insurance and rates the some as him.

Dear Vicious1955, Thank you for your comments. I am sorry you have had this experience. The Patient Experience Team will be working with colleagues to ensure an investigation takes place of what you describe and so, for that purpose, would be keen for you to come back to the Trust with details of when you experienced this. Lack of clarity when communicating order and waiting times can sometimes lead to misunderstandings, but your message appears to be very clear that you feel the prioritisation of patients unfairly placed a painter for the Trust ahead of you.
