About: East Surrey Hospital

My husband works here so thought natural to have our child born here. I was told I had to have an epidural "just in case" and it didn't work. Had to have stitches which they tried to do whilst trying to get my son to latch on, ended up with a spinal in theatres for almost 2 hours away from my son and husband. No coaching by midwives for when I had to push. After surgery they left gauze/bandage in me and had to stay in overnight for observation. Then they found my son had a slight heart murmur, another night for observation when each day I got told I could go home. Not happy with them whatsoever but I got my baby boy in the end. My last midwife of 3 was the loveliest and just told me to push if I needed to when the others told me not to.
