What I liked
I took my mother to A&E at 10am on Saturday 27 September. Her details were taken immediately by a receptionist. She liaised with a member of staff and then informed my mother that she would be seen bya doctor. We were ushered to a waiting area next to the examination booths. Within 5 minutes a friendly assistant led us to a booth. 10 minutes later the doctor arrived. She diagnosed shingles. She clearly explained to my mother her situation and described in detail the medication she was going to prescribe. We picked up the treatments from the hospital pharmacy. We were leaving the hospital 45 minutes later.
All staff were polite and efficient and considerate.
What could be improved
Signposting to and within the saturday morning pharmacy, although main reception were there to guide the lost.
Anything else?
All in all,not the A&E I have experienced previously, I was not looking forward to waiting hours with a quite unwell 87 year old. How wrong we were. Thankyou.
