"Revolving door of incomplete treatment!"

About: Airedale General Hospital

A family member who has been in Airedale recently, to be fair is not the easiest of patients. However, this does not excuse the way in which she is superficially treated and then discharged form hospital only to bounce back in a short time later with more serious complications of her illness. The order of the day appears to be that elderly people are not worth the effort so get them booted out ASAP in order to free up the bed and sod the long term costs. If as much "Covering One's Backside" took place amongst medical staff working in elderly medicine as takes place within other departments, eg children's medicine, these elderly and vulnerable people would not be mistreated in this manner. Imagine this: a sick vulnerable diabetic child being approached on ward by a person selling from a trolley full of sweets - It wouldn't happen. It would be abuse. So why allow it to happen on ward 2? It is shocking that you allow vulnerable acutely diabetic patients to be hit on by sweet sales people! Imagine this: a sick child with diabetic ulcers so deep and advanced that they have been bed ridden for over a year, unable to walk properly, with rotten black necrotic toes, renal impairment and a questionable grasp of reality being sent home too early without robust follow up being put in place - It wouldn't happen. So why allow it to happen on ward 2? Why take away the person's chances of even a slight recovery and return of quality to their life? This person worked hard and paid taxes all her life and is entitled to a good and full treatment from the health service even if she is too mentally unaware to recognise this for herself. No doubt your staff will have all filled out the right forms to make it appear that they are no worse than the mid staffs hospital staff so when their performance is measured, it all looks nice n rosy. I wonder if anyone will measure the shortening life of our relative.....?
