"Cardiac Intensive Care and Heart Care Team"

About: Manchester Royal Infirmary

My Mum had a heart attack in November and subsequent open heart surgery at MRI. I cannot praise enough the standard of care that she received from the surgeon, nursing staff and other auxilliary staff both before and after her surgery in the Cardiac Intensive Care ward and Ward 3 and subsequent outpatient care from the wound team (still ongoing). Even though they are short staffed, nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff and always done with a smile. In the wound clinic we have seen the same people every week and they have got to know my mum and make her feel re-assured which at 84 is a massive thing. Thank you once again for making a horrible experience the best it could be.

Thank you for your comments posted on the NHS Choices website regarding the care that your Mum received at the Cardiothoracic Department at the Manchester Heart Centre, Manchester Royal Infirmary. It was very kind of you to write and compliment the staff as it is good to receive positive feedback which reflects the hard work and dedication of our staff. It was very reassuring to hear that the staff helped make the experience a positive one and that you were very happy with the standard of care that your mother received. I can assure you that we have passed on your thoughts to the staff involved. The Patient Experience Team Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
