"Build on Hetty's Support"

Social services placed our three grandchildren in our care as a family placement. They offered limited support and the setting out of certain conditions agreed with our daughter to whom the children belonged.

As pensioners caring for three young children who missed their mum it was at times a very stressful experience. Fortunately, at a CAF meeting, we were offered help from Hettys. What a difference they made, suddenly we had someone who would listen, offer advice and give us the support that we both needed. Our support worker visits us once a month, listens to our anxieties and talks us through them. After his visits we feel totally recharged.

With the frustration and stress that came from my daughters situation and caring for her young children my wife became very negative and entered a period where she became extremely depressed. Fortunately we had Hettys to help her through her depression. The support we got from Hettys was brilliant, they worked with her through this difficult time, offering encouragement and advice. Our support worker got her to seek medical advice, which she was adamant she was not going to do. My wife is now a much stronger person with a positive outlook and I thank Hettys for that. The help and support they give cannot be praised highly enough.

Hettys are a group of dedicated professionals whose support and expertise have helped us through troubled times, they have been our rock.

What Hettys do should be built upon, as there must be many more carers and others that need their support and expertise.
