"Having had my first total knee ..."

About: Macclesfield District General Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

Having had my first total knee replacement at the adjacent private Regency Hospital, I had my second on 09 September 2008. The surgeon in each case was excellent. The standards of cleanliness, nursing care and food were noticeably superior in the NHS District General Hospital, and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

What could be improved

Nothing of significance.

Thank you for writing in with your very positive comments about the standards of cleanliness, nursing care and food at Macclesfield Hospital. According to the national adult inpatient survey 2007 we were amongst the top rating 20% of trusts in England for patients’ confidence and trust in nurses, and for patient meals. Cleanliness is amongst the Trust's very top priorities so we are very pleased to read that you feel that standards are high at this hospital.

Your comments will be passed on to the surgical team.
