I have been a patient since 2001, under the care of 2 brilliant consultants who performed 3 joint replacements and 1 graft/fusion. They both seemed concerned about the facilities and equipment that they had to struggle with. I felt saddened by this demise of such a world renowned hospital. Imagine my joy at hearing the news AGES ago that a new Wrightington is to be built.

On my last visit to outpatients I enquired as to when the new facility was to start, imagine my total shock and disgust when told staff had to increase "production" etc. before this would indeed happen. What an absolute joke.

During my 4 "stays" in the hospital, patients referred to Wrightington to rectify other hospital cock-ups were numerous, surely we don`t want our brilliant hospital to go down the path of rush rush rush, cutting corners leading to cock-ups thus dragging Wrightington down to to their levels.

Nothing was published about this stupid "production" idea at the time of the announcement, or I think there would have been a huge outcry, after all it`s a hospital not Fords.

Get the new hospital built and then these brilliant consultants and staff will put Wrighington back at the top of the tree and increase "production".
