"Very disatisfied"

About: Pinderfields General Hospital

My father who is 84 has heart disease (triple by-pass) prostate cancer and is insulin dependant diabetic. He was fitted with a catheter last July and was told he could have a procedure on his prostate to enable the removal of the catheter. Since then he has a water infection constantly and has still not had the procedure. On enquiring I am told that they are awaiting recommendations for the procedure to be done from his cardiologist (following a scan early autumn we have been told that the cardiologist supports the procedure) and his GP following certain blood tests. He only managed to get a blood test last week and on going to see his GP today was told that the procedure had not gone ahead yet as the hospital needed confirmation from his cardiologist! Aaaaaggggggghj. Is there no communication at all in this hospital? I wrote and complained to the hospital about the treatment my dad had on one emergency ambulance admission. It was a catalogue of disasters which are too lengthy to go into here but in short he was taken to A&E instead of onto a ward as they had no beds. He was in A&E from 6.30pm until 12.00 midnight before a bed was found and when I asked in A & E if a Dr would be seeing him they said no as he wasn't an A & E patient., he should be on a ward but there are no beds! The reply from the hospital was very "fudgey" and answered none of my questions. Think it was a politician who replied. No faith in this hospital at all.

We would be pleased to arrange for these concerns to be investigated if the family would like to contact us with details.
