I cant falter the ambulance crew, they were just amazing, they responded fast, and after my husband explained my history of PE they did an ECG, and gave me morphine for the chest pain., They also put me on oxygen and had pretty much stabilised me when we entered A&E, I was still in pain and on oxygen, and ambulance crew had just topped up my morphine as I lay in a corridor waiting for a room, when some nurse came stalking over, making insinuations about heartburn, and took me off all the machines I was on, and threw me out into the waiting room. Like I was trash who had brought it on myself, the ambulance crew looked quite put out by this, and it seemed like this nurse had made no attempt to even look at my notes, or check me over. We sat in the waiting room for hours before being seen and sent for an xray and blood tests, The blood tests picked up an infection and an abnormal result which indicated the possibility of another blood clot, I was then given antibiotics and told to go home and return the next day for a scan. I was given an appointment on the RAMAC unit for half eleven, only to be sat there for ages in a ward, that had been cleared of beds, and had chairs rammed in it, which doubled as a waiting room, expecting the appointment to be 11:30 we had our baby son, and had to sit for hours with him and my husband as well as others waiting, we were offered tea on the odd occasion, however this was luke warm and in a plastic disposable cup. They gave me sandwiches which were soggy and tasted as if they had been in the bag for a week, and my husband and son had nothing, my husband had to go out and buy food at the shop, which as my son is gluten free cost us nearly £20 for a snack. When the doctor did see us, I was told no scan had been booked and he would book this for half two, despite the appointment actually been made for a scan, when I complained about how long I had waited, I was told I could go home and return tomorrow for a scan instead. We stayed and eventually were seen, the scan showed I had two blood clots and I was called into a room with the doctor, who asked my husband to stay where he was, then proceeded to tell me about the blood clots, saying that he didn't know whether these were the old ones still there from last time, or new ones formed, and that I would have to go back on blood thinners and have a three month follow up scan, nothing else was explained, and despite the medication been different from my old one, I received no information about it, I feel that I was treated badly by the nurse who was ready to put my problems down to heartburn, despite my history. I would not want to rely on A&E staff at this hospital again Nothing was explained and I left feeling worse than I arrived. Knowing nothing about my issues. I'm also autistic as the staff at A&E were told, and I feel my treatment was due to them think I was being stereotypical "Autistyic"
