"Gynaecology"

About: Royal Free Hospital

I'm afraid I'm one of those patients who slipped through the net. I went to the Gynecology unit for a hysteroscopy because my doctor feared cancer. I was told that if the result of the biopsy is something to worry about I would received the information within 2 weeks. I did not hear anything from the hospital even after 12 weeks so I believed I was safe. It was only because I wanted reassurance that I contacted my GP and they still hadnt received the result of the biopsy. They contacted the Royal Free Hospital and it turned out they had not taken enough tissue to be able to obtain a test result from it (or thats their excuse - maybe they forgot to send it for testing). However, nobody bothered to follow up on this! What kind of a micky mouse gynecological department would behave like that? So now I have to go through this harrowing process all over again - lucky me.
