"lakeside unit leigh mental health"

About: North West Boroughs Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust

(as the patient),

I was an inpatient about 10 weeks ago at leigh mental health lakeside unit and I found conditions appalling I was sent to seclusion 3 times for 14 to 16 hours each time first time I was allowed toilet at the side second and third time I was given cardboard to urinate and the other in I was teased in a very personal way and teased about not being brave enough to stand up to police and no one would talk to me through door I also found a clump off glass on the window frame off door granted nurses apologized on three seperate occassions saying they were only human but in my oppinion they are supposed to be professionals I can go on for ever but there isnt enough space

Dear Ste12,

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction with your experiences in being placed in seclusion whilst you were a patient on Lakeside Ward. I would be happy to meet with you to look in further detail at what we can learn from your experience in order to improve things in the future.

Please feel free to contact my secretary on the number below either to arrange a meeting or, if you prefer, to arrange a telephone contact.

Cheryl Forrest, Matron, Adult Mental Health Services, Wigan. 01942 264539.
