"Lack of treatment choice, respect and dignity"

About: Addenbrooke's Hospital

Doctors in neuroloical rehab focus on treating a symptom rather than assessing and subsequently applying treatment in the context of taking the actual cause into consideration, that is someones overall neurological functioning. They only provide assessment and lip service and lack much required practical rehabilitation expertise. They donot address concerns and donot respond to requests and wishes made by patient or relative about their rehabilitation treatment. They donot give choice. They also tend to mock patient and their relatives if they donot agree with the treatment offered, thus coming up with their choice in the context of their neurological condition.

Your comments are very concerning to us and we would really like to talk to you about them. I have already alerted the Clinical Directors for Stroke and Neurology to your comments and we would pleased to arrange to meet with you. Please contact PALS via email pals@addenbrookes.nhs.uk and we can arrange this for you. We are sorry your experience has not been a positive one.
