"Aftercare"

About: Royal Berkshire Hospital

Why do the addmissions dept think that they have more medical knowledge than the consultant and nursing staff! By this I mean that my consultant explained that I would need to go back after two weeks (from the op) and have a weight bearing cast put on my lower leg this was confirmed by the nurses and Doctor on my discharge , yet the appointments service (admin run) choose to completely ignore all of this and make an appointment for three and a half weeks after surgery why don't they bother to pay attention to paperwork from the medical people after all they are admin staff but as normal they are a law unto themselves. It is these people that waste NHS money and give the NHS a bad name.

Thank you for your feedback about your experience of the timescales for your appointment following your surgery. We would need your personal details to look into this matter, so we would encourage you to contact our Patient Advice & Liaison Service (PALS) at the Trust and provide us with the dates of your surgery and the scheduled appointment, to allow us to investigate thoroughly. PALS can be contacted by telephone 0118 322 8338 or by email talktous@royalberkshire.nhs.uk
