"Complaint about how my daughter was treated"

My daughter is 39 weeks pregnant and in slow labour (this is her 3rd baby). She called the labour help line at Stoke hospital (she is registered with them for a home birth but is under Macclesfield hospital). As she phoned Stoke labour line who told her to come and get the baby monitored, she and her husband drove 1/2 to the hospital. They went to see a midwife who refuse to even monitor the baby or check my daughter over. They did not want to take any responsibility, they said that she had to drive 1h to Macclesfield. She went out and came back in as by that time she was very distressed and in tears, but once again another midwife decided that she could not been seen at Stoke but had to drive to Macclesfield. That is totally unacceptable, Why did the labour line not tell her to go to Macclesfield, they only said come over to be checked... everyone would have done the same and gone to the hospital they called. If anything happens to my daughter and my unborn grand-child, I shall hold Stoke hospital responsible for lack to concern and lack of treatment. We shall be making a formal complaint to the PALS department and expect this occurrence to be fully investigated so this does not happen to anyone else.
