"Painful Pipelle biopsy at Birmingham women's hospital"

About: Birmingham Women's Hospital / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

I have to attend for these biopsies, first every 6 months and now yearly. After the last in mid-January 14, I am seriously thinking about stopping going.

This time it was sooo painful I had to ask Dr to stop. The nurse doesn't interact at all, trying to reassure or calm, only speaking to give a pad.

I've looked on the net to find that other women are offered anaesthetic gel or spray on the cervix and an internal exam to find the position of the cervix.

It was such a bad experience this time, I can't get it out of my mind.
