My 9 year old son recently went for day surgery onto Skylark Ward. The staff were amazing! Everyone spoke to my son before me and asked him the questions, so he was involved in all aspects of his care. The nurses were professional but approachable and had time for us. We have been to NGH many times and have never felt so at ease and happy. Even my son commented on the hospital - how lovely and clean it was! He really liked the play assistants who can't do enough for you. Thank you everyone on Skylark, it made a difficult time, stress-free. It would definitely be my first choice if we have to have any further operations.

Thank you very much for the lovely comments regarding your stay on Skylark Ward. The nursing staff endeavour to involve children in every aspect of their care and I am glad he felt so included. The professionalism of our nurses is important to us and we are glad you felt at ease during your stay. Thank you so much for noticing the cleanliness of the ward, our housekeeping staff work very hard to maintain the high standards. The Play Team are dedicated to providing each child with age appropriate activities and ensuring that they are prepared for all procedures and have an understanding of the surgical process. The team on Skylark Ward work hard to ensure that every patient and their family are treated as individuals and that the care offered is of a high standard and we are delighted to hear that you would choose us in the future.
