"Top A&E for a trauma"

About: Bristol Royal Infirmary

I was taken to Bristol Royal Infirmary after I dislocated my shoulder. On arrival I thought the hospital looked dated however I later found it to be clean if a little well used. The nursing staff were the best I have met. I was seen quickly and with in 20 minutes of arrival I had been diagnosed. My pain was dealt with very well and I was kept informed about what was going on with my treatment. It did take a while for the doctor to see me however she listened to my treatment choice and explained what she was going. Communication was great, even while another patient was making a complaint in connection with something outside the hospitals control. While this is not my local hospital I would recommend it to friends and family. Like with large hospital there are things that could be improved, some of the signs were a little unclear and some of the patient waiting areas need to be repainted but all in all the hospital is looking good. If you want to be treated by friendly, happy and seemingly well trained staff I say go to the Bristol Royal Infirmary

Thank you for taking the time to post a comment on NHS Choices. We are pleased to hear that you had such a positive experience and will pass this on to the team. There is currently building work taking place at a number of our hospitals (including the Bristol Royal Infirmary) in order to update the look and feel of the buildings, and this will include improvement of the signage. Thanks again for your feedback.
