What I liked

A&E dealt with me extremely quickly, given that I was out running when suffering chest pains. It took less than 10 minutes for a preliminary diagnosis and immediate treatment. I stayed in A&E reception for the compulsory 12 hours when a cardiac episode was confirmed. I was admitted and given an angioplast and discharged only 3 days later. A brilliant experience and congratulations to all the team that dealt with my case.

What could be improved

The medial care was great. But the teams could be so much more efficient if they didn't need to do admin. I was asked on more than 5 different occassions EXACTLY the same set of questions and went 'missing' on the IT system once. Nurses spent a couple of hours trying to find me rather than nursing. Not their fault, but paper pushing does not deliver patient care - it might help meet targets and satisfy politicians.

Anything else?

I will tell others about the great experience I had at the Lister and how wonderful the cardiac care services are. This was top rate. I'm pleased to say that with minimal medical history this was my first exposure to the front line and I'm impressed. Well done to all.

Thank you for your kind comments, which have now been passed on to our staff. Despite your overall highly positive view of the care you received at the Lister, we were disappointed that you experienced some frustration with our administration procedures. Our staff have a responsibility to document all aspects of a patient's care, although we understand that it can be frustrating when you are asked the same question several times
