My 19 year old daughter was an in patient at this hospital for back surgery, she was admitted to the Molly Lane Fox brain injury unit as I understand there weren't any beds on the neurosurgery wards. She had a two night stay and the experience was faultless. The nursing staff, surgeons, pharmacy and domestic staff were amazing. She had a side room with ensuite which was both roomy and very clean. At times she had 5 visitors and the staff were very obliging and not at all disgruntled by it. Her surgeon visited her every day and was happy to answer any questions we had. During the night hours when she was alone, she felt very comfortable and safe and the nursing staff were very quiet and respectful of her rest and sleep. They also took a sympathetic approach to her worries and fears. Nothing was too much trouble. On day two of her stay she was visited by the physiotherapist and given help to walk and climb stairs along with follow up advice for when she returned home. I checked in to a hotel nearby for the duration, and spent 10-12 hours a day with her which I found very bearable as the nursing staff were cheerful, reassuring and professional. Well done to everybody and many, many thanks for offering my daughter the chance of a pain free life.
