My 80 year old mother had to be hospitalised on one of the orthopaedic wards.
The food and nursing care were good.
The communication seemed very poor. It was unclear which were the nursing staff and who were care workers. My mother seemed to be given different descriptions for her injuries depending on which doctor saw her. There seemed to be no plan in place for her leaving and it was very unclear as to when she should leave. Although staff referred to notes when I asked questions about her progress, nobody I met seemed to take responsibility. I found the careworkers I met on a couple of the night shifts irresponsible, rowdy and bullying. My mother was afraid of two of them. The day staff were far nicer although I observed one staff member being apparently disrespectful to one elderly patient.
