I presented with a ? fractured big toe. I am a staff nurse and knew that if it was another toe it wouldn't have mattered and I wouldn't have gone to 'A & E'. I was sent to X-ray but was told when seen later that my toe was just bruised and I hadn't broken it. I was treated as if I had wasted their time and left limping.

Yes, well of course I would have come back if I knew that! :( I was then given crutches (because I asked, I wasn't offered though I could hardly walk), my toe was neighbour strapped and I was sent home with a fracture clinic appointment. I just hope that better teaching came of this, because it could have saved me two weeks off work.
