"Great medical service"

About: Tameside General Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a staff member),

This story has been posted by Healthwatch Tameside on behalf of a member of the public who asked not to have their name published. They said…

This lady's husband went to the doctor's with the runs (Dr Dowling at Davaar Surgery in Dukinfield). The doctor picked up another issue with breathing and sent him straight to A & E at Tameside Hospital. He was transferred to MAU where he subsequently collapsed. Crash team did a fantastic job. All in all we had a great healthcare experience.

Many thanks for sharing your experience with us via the NHS Choices website.

The hospital works hard to ensure an entire patient’s journey is the best possible care. I hope your Husband is now on the road to a good recovery

Kind regards

John Goodenough

Director of Nursing

’Would you like to help the hospital to improve its services further? We are currently looking for patients and carers to become involved in a development called “Patient Stories”. We want to know more about our services from the point of view of those who received them – what was good, bad, what could be improved, what should be changed. Want to know more about what’s involved? Please contact John Goodenough, Director of Nursing at
