I just wanted to thank you for all your help and support during my stay at the hospital last December. As someone who has never taken any sick leave from work, yet alone had any surgery, I was understandably nervous about the procedures ahead. I was treated with kindness and patience by everyone I met at the Royal Sussex. This includes the staff who reassured me when taking my blood and the receptionists at the Millennium Wing who contacted my dad when I had no phone signal. I also remain grateful to the nurses and surgeons who talked me through the procedures that I would undergo. The personable way in which this information was communicated helped me feel at ease and confident in the run up to my operation. I was later presented with another new experience, which was staying overnight in hospital. Any concerns I had about this situation were soon allayed due to the attentive and caring manner of the nurses on the L9a discharge ward. I really appreciate the work of all the staff who issued me with the medication I needed, changed my dressings and made sure that I was comfortable throughout my time there. Their compassion and professionalism alleviated my worries and set me up in good stead to continue my recovery at home. I would also like to thank the staff at the Royal Sussex’s pharmacy for preparing and instructing me how to use the drugs that I needed. I am also grateful to the assistance of the nurses at the Wound Clinic who helped me with my dressings at the weekend. I am pleased to say that I am feeling miles better. I’m no longer in any pain or discomfort and I just need to have a stitch removed to complete my recovery. Thank you for all your kindness and hard work.
