My lovely grandson, at the ripe old age of 18, had a little too much to drink. However it brought out his bottled up greaving for the loss of his nan, for over 18 months. In the process his vented his anger by punching a glass window, which gashed his hand. This was at 2-30am. We went to A&E and were waiting for a while. His being a minor problem. I suppose all in all we were there for 3 hours. In that time the A&E dealt with many cases, some prior to us and others, emergencies were dealt with promptly. This is how it should be, after all it is primarily for emergencies, others should be prepared to wait and not moan. I am fed up with excessive 'band wagon' criticism of our local Hospital. I would like to see the A&E department, who do a sterling job, put up a notice saying. Welcome to A&E. This department is primarily for Accidents and Emergencies, if your ailment is not life threatening, you must be prepared to wait. Thank you A&E you did us proud.
