"Disgusted"

About: Pinderfields General Hospital

My dad who is 73 was admitted Tues night with a chest infection and also has diabetes apart from having to wait over 7 hours for a bed, i have never known a hospital that doesn't keep their patients or family up to date with with what is going on,As far as dad and his family were aware he was supposed to be coming home yesterday i rang all day it was taking over half an hour or even longer for someone to answer the phone and when i eventually got through was told "Doctor hasn't been yet " I phoned at 4.45pm and was told they are keeping him in, it was too late for family to visit in the afternoon and not enough notice for the family that work. I have phoned again today it took over an hour for someone to answer the phone and was told the same thing again "Doctor not been yet" so yet again i will have to ring back later today, so he will not have any visitors yet again this afternoon. We have left our works, mobile & landline numbers i know they have other patients but surely a quick phone call just to let a family member know that they are waiting for the doctor to see him surely wouldn't go amiss.I am really disgusted with this hospital.

We are concerned to note these comments and would be pleased to arrange for the matter to be investigated if the family would like to contact us directly.
