"Ward 102 - specifically Mandy Somerset and her colleagues"

About: Royal Stoke University Hospital

(as a carer),

My father was admitted as an emergency and moved from the SAU to Ward 102 for a short period in November 2013. Mandy was a lead Nurse involved with my fathers care during this period. She is a credit to the nursing profession. She quickly assessed my fathers (deteriorating) health status and pulled out all the stops to ensure that the relevant medical and other personnel attended and action was taken to try to stabilise his condition.

Throughout this time Mandy was caring and attentive to family members present, keeping us all in the loop as to what was happening. My father ended up having emergency surgery through the night. Mandy came and checked how we were as a family prior to going off duty late at night, bringing us all refreshments. Superb care and professionalism throughout this and we are very grateful to her and the teams involved in my fathers surgery that night.
