What I liked

The staff in the theater were supportive and friendly. The anethetist was great as were the recovery staff.

What could be improved

There were no porters so I had to walk to the theater, and wait 45 minutes after being cleared to go the ward.

I had been given a spinal block so when asked to 'shuffle' from the trolley to the bed (by the nurse) I couldnt do it as I couldnt move my legs! I got upset and was dragged on by the nurse instead flashing all my no underwear glory to the porter pushing the trolley. I found that experience quite upsetting.

At one point I was in so much pain I pushed my 'button' to call the nurse and it was completely ignored. I was in a room on my own so I just had to keep calling whenever I saw anyone go past.

No-one likes having to go into hospital but at points I felt like an inconvenience to the nurses and I wasnt demanding. I waited until I was physically crying with the pain before I called them. I found that a real shame as I always thought highly of the hospital before that experience.

Anything else?

At other times I have been treaded exeptionally by SMH and would like to commend the people that dealt with me for their professionalism and efficiency. Which is why I would still recommend it.

I guess that's why my spell in the hospital was so dissapointing, mainly from a dignity point of view.

On more than one occasion the toilets have been dirty. There was a used specimin pot left on the side in the toilet on Ward 9. That was pretty discusting. I put it in the bin myself.
