"Visit to the Nuclear Medicine Dept"

About: University Hospital (Coventry)

Apart from the very expensive car parking charges and chaos. I would like to congratulate all the staff in the Nuclear Medicine Dept who were most courteous, understanding and extremely understanding to my claustrophobia when undergoing my Datscan. If it hadn't have been for the department taking the time to talk me through a remedy. Then I would have walked away because of my fear. Well done everyone who went above and beyond the normal call of duty. My faith is restored. Well done University Hospital.

Thank you for providing feedback on your recent visit to the Nuclear Medicine Department at University Hospital, Coventry. I am delighted to hear that you had an overall positive experience and that the staff were able to allay any apprehension you had, due to your claustrophobia, and that you felt they went above and beyond in providing you with great care. However, I was disheartened to hear about your experiences outside of the hospital and that you were unhappy with the cost of parking and the onsite congestion. The Trust, in July 2011, reduced car park charges at University Hospital in response to public feedback. Furthermore we have in recent months begun a program of works at the site to alleviate congestion, improve signage and increase the numbers of parking spaces for our visitors. The first phase has been completed and phase two is now underway and all work should be completed by spring next year. I appreciate that this hasn’t helped during this visit but you should be aware that we do take the concerns of visitors seriously and where possible try to resolve them. The Trust is grateful for all feedback, positive or negative, as it means we can better understand what is important to our patients, and your kind comments will be shared with the relevant staff. Thank you for leaving your comments on NHS Choices. Communications Team University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust Telephone: 0800 028 4203
