"waiting time for operation"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus

My son is due to have a bone graft. We had an appointment on the 30th April 2013 to be told by his surgeon we would receive a date for his op within 2 months. We haven't heard a word since.I have emailed and rang several people regarding this matter.I feel I have been fobbed off by everyone I've spoken to.Even his orthodontist has emailed several times to the surgeon to say my sons op is long over do.We have to travel 30 miles there and back to attend the orthodontist appointment for nothing really as his treatment ended months ago with him and he cant do anything else for my son until hes had his op.My son was born with a cleft lip and palate and has bullying on a daily basis due to the way his teeth look.Kids can be very cruel and he is suffering everyday. This needs to be sorted ASAP.I can not understand how the waiting list can be so long.

Thank you for getting in touch. I’m sorry to hear that you have had this experience with your son’s appointment and I can appreciate this must have been upsetting at times for you both. Having spoken with our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) about your situation, I have been informed that you have since had the chance to speak personally to Vicki Nightingale, Service Co-ordinator for Family Health, and I hope that this has now resolved the difficulty you have been having. However, should you have any further problems, please get in touch again with PALS.
