"Cancelled appointments: October/ December/ January"

Following bladder cancer seven and again 5 1/2 years ago, I have been on follow up checks, which are now annually. When in Basingstoke, appointments were given and kept by the excellent urology department at the North Hampshire Hospital. Having moved to London, I have requested that the annual checks be continued to the advisory 10 years all-clear point. The Barts Trust has sent and cancelled no fewer than 4 appointments from October 2013 to January 2014. I am appalled at the waste and inefficiency involved in so much rescheduling. I am also concerned that if I did need treatment, I would find the department unable to fit me in. I now have an appointment for January 30th. Let's see whether this one is fictitious as well! NB I have not actually visited the hospital yet, just spoken to a (very helpful) appointments lady on the telephone today, 7 January 2014.
