"Antenatal care in Hull"

About: Castle Hill Hospital Hull Teaching PCT

(as the patient),

I am about 3/4 months pregnant. just recently i decided not have a termination which had been fixed for early December 2006 at Castle Hill hospital hull. Before this i had nearly fainted out shopping and an ambulance car was sent to me to Hull royal infimary hull. I waited to be seen feeling very ill and when i was dealt with was put onto a hospital bed due to low blood presure. i had been kept there for 5 hours and blood had been taken.Being pregnant i thought that a check-up scan might of taken place but i was just sent home. After that i missed a further doctors appointments as i was very unwell. After thinking about it i decided to keep my pregnacy but did not let Castle Hill know and nobody contacted me.

I then made an appointment at my surgery in Hull. I felt the male doctor i met there was very unfair and unprofessional towards me - after all i did request a female and there weren't any available till after three weeks. I did not really want to see a male GP.

I agreed to meet a male doctor - after letting him know i was pregnant he became very rude he asked me how many months. I think i said about four months, then he became angrey saying you have missed important injections what have you been doing, why did you not come earlier? i replied "i used a sexual health clinc as i found them to be more polite and understanding at conifer house in Hull" He replied "your doctor is important you should have been here". At this this point i was upset and already nervous as i did not want to use a doctor at my practice first. Surely this was my decision. He continued to huff and puff around the room. so much for help and a sense of security. i thought it could of been a lot better and more supportive.
