I arrived at A&E around 5am on Sunday morning and was recovering from emergency surgery for a ruptured ectopic pregnancy by the end of the afternoon. The nurses and doctors in A&E were efficient and kind throughout and quick to identify the problem and raise specialists from the gynaecological team, who admitted me to 7 North that morning. Although scanning facilities were not open at the hospital on a Sunday, an emergency scan was thankfully arranged by late morning by the attentive and concerned doctors, who then rushed me to theatre to operate just after lunchtime. The doctors, and one in particular, were kind and patient with me, listening to me and keeping me informed at all times. My experience of post-operative care on 7 North was excellent, Sisters/nurses ran an efficient and clean ward, making sure i was comfortable, but also taking the time to get to know me and my family. All in all, the staff at the royal free acted quickly and effectively and made a very difficult time much easier for me. Thank you!
"Outstanding end to end service"
