"lyndon1 worst hospitality for a childrens ward."

About: Sandwell General Hospital

I took my son to the hospital who was having an asthma attack, when we arrived at 5am in the morning, we were the only ones in the A&E department. We booked in and then told to take a seat, to my astonishment I didnt expected to be waiting half an hour later seen we were the only ones there and my child was in a very bad way which was quite eminent to the Receptionists. Receptionist needs adequate training in people skills quite unfriendly almost rude And the cleaning staff are rubbish. How do you dust above an asthmatic patients bed, a child at that, and when spoken to about it, was quite rude in reply. There is a zero tolerance policy towards staff but their should also be one for vulnerable patients who requires the hospitals care.

I'm sorry to hear that your experience of A&E at Sandwell was a poor one. Receptionists and cleaners are all part of an important staff mix, especially in the middle of the night, and their contribution to your son's care is not underestimated. Thank you for taking the time to feedback, especially following what must have been a stressful and tiring time. I hope your son is recovering well. Toby Lewis, Chief Executive.
