My Wife was referred to the Nephrology Dept at Colchester General Hospital, Turner Road in May 2013. As her husband I was made most welcome to sit in attendance with her while the Consultant examined her. My Wife has various problems and the Doctor was patient and understanding, he took time to explain her condition and possible causes, nothing seemed too much trouble for him or his excellent staff. Due to the Doctors findings my Wife was referred to Urology Dept for a proceedure, once again the treatment of my Wife was second to none, all the team seemed to be of one mind in caring for her in what can be a harrowing experience for an elderly person. One of my wife's problems is Lupus related and an appointment was made for her to see Rheumatology Dept, once again I was made welcome to to sit in on the consultation and once again I was impressed by the trouble taken in explaining my Wife's condition and the caring nature of the whole experience. After prescribing a new course of medication the Doctor took the trouble to phone us at home to see how things were going and adjusting the prescription to suit. Due to my Wife's suspected problems she was booked for a CT scan at Beta Suite, once again she received the same kind and caring treatment here and in the X-Ray Dept Alpha Suite. After a consultation my Wife was admitted for Surgery at the Elective Care Centre. From start to finish the care she received was excellent, the after care from Doctors and Nurses on Mersea Ward was very professional but also kind and caring. I must also comment on the bright and clean look of all the departments, wards and corridors, the cleaning and trolley/shop staff were also cheerful and welcoming. Colchester General Hospital my rating 5 star plus
"A good experience"
