My daughter was expecting her first baby 22/09/13 supposed to be wonderful experience, (72 hours labour) 22 hours she braved at home, 36 hours on labour ward with just one lot of pethadine which slowed everything down advised not to have anymore so by now in agony (she was 2 cms for 38 hours and 3cms for 20 hours ) then moved to delivery suite because she was 4cms where she had epidural then 14 hours later which she was a lot more comfortable, she had a healthy baby girl. Cannot believe in this day and age she wasn't helped on to quicken things up, Can only describe those 36 hours on the labour ward shocking and barbaric in this day and age. You talk to her now and you can see the pain and hurt in her eyes
"duty of care"
