"Brain Scans"

About: Medway Maritime Hospital

After collapsing and falling unconscious I went to my doctor who sent me to CDU I had blood tests and an ECG, talk about disorganised, doctors sat around appearing to do nothing, fighting over a donation of teddy bears that were to be given to children, the doctors all took them home for themselves... my eyes were actually out on stalks at what I was witnessing, they appeared not to know there ass from their elbow and then when my results came back , "oh sorry we forgot to test your blood for certain things" can we have another sample... I was there for seven hours for a simple ECG and blood test, I would like to say they were busy but they weren't, there were just two of us there sat there all night! It was a terrible experience and the only one who seemed to turn it around was when a nurse came on shift and seemed to put a boot up all the doctors bums to get them to do some work! Well I then had two head scans on the 22nd of August.... still waiting for the results on the 25th of September, I received a letter telling me to go for another head scan on the 15th of September, I called to check it was not a duplicate appointment, Medway confirmed it was not,,, I turn up... its a duplicate appointment, good job I mentioned that I'd already had two the month before, I'd have been scanned again for nothing and wasted NHS money... I am trying to get through to the PAL line, it's been ringing and ringing constantly since nine am with no one answering... probably sitting in the café in reception eating breakfast... I am moving out the area soon and will come under another hospital... this alone makes me happy!!

Thank you for you for bringing your experience to my attention. I am sorry and concerned at some of the things you describe. Without further details it is difficult for me to look into these matters in more depth and it’s important that I do. I would encourage you to contact me so I can gather a bit more information from you and address the issues you raise. My email address is jayne.gray@medway.nhs.uk Jayne Gray Head of Nursing, Adult
