I had a brief stay in hospital with a swollen arm following an insect sting.
A large general Nightingale ward is not ideal unless one is too ill to notice or care about the inevitable attention needed by bedfast and sometimes confused, sometimes difficult and abusive patients. However I was very impressed by the kindness, patience, cheerfulness and general good humour of all the staff: doctors, nurses, meals' staff, cleaners.
