I gave birth to my second son in Nov 2006 and I can only praise the care that was provided to me whilst I was in labour.
My son was delivered by a newly qualified midwife. Throughout, the care myself and my newborn received was exceptional, the care and support provided to my 9 year old at the time was above and beyond the call of duty.
Unfortunately the care that is provided to expectant mothers is not always as outstanding as the care I received. Midwifes are continually put under pressure and it is time this changed.
