"Nursing and medicine as it should be"

FPH has been on a journey for the last 18 yrs in my experience as a former nurse and patient. I had an unhappy time as a nurse there 16yrs ago and some difficult experiences as a patient 14yrs ago but now is a totally different story. FPH has grown into one of the best district general hospitals in the area. I had day surgery in January (hysteroscopy)and major surgery (hysterectomy) in February of this year and my experience was very positive indeed. Communication was very good and my dignity was maintained throughout. The nursing staff had a great sense of pride and professionalism in their work and I felt well and truly cared for. I was particularly impressed with the attention to pain control and cleanliness. I did have a bit of a reaction to the anaesthetic and the opiates that they gave me and was cared for in the Post Anesthetic Unit overnight which was a bit of a blur but I felt safe and well cared for. I would recommend the Hospital and the doctor and his team.
