About: Liskeard Community Hospital

Went to Liskeard Minor Injuries unit on Friday night with horrendous earache - lovely triage nurse who gave me painkillers and advice and told me to ring / come back if pain got any worse. It did get worse and I was in agony the following night and had to go back, having contacted SERCO who made me an out of hours clinic apt to see a GP. On arrival welcomed by a very miserable receptionist and the GP had no people skills whatsoever. Showed no empathy and I was made to feel that it was inconvenient to be there - told me to go to Derriford after issueing me with stronger painkillers than on already and giving me antibiotics without any dicusssion or check up at all. I came away in tears. Dont honestly think I would want to go back there

We are pleased that our MIU triage nurse was able to give you initial advice and sorry it did not improve. Whilst the Out of Hours GP clinic is run from Liskeard Hospital, it is delivered by Serco and, therefore, we have passed on your comments to Serco directly. We hope that you will still use the community services delivered by Peninsula Community Health from Liskeard Hospital.
