"Breast cancer care"

About: Queen Alexandra Hospital

I have been treated recently for breast cancer at Queen Alexandra hospital Portsmouth and feel that at all times i was treated in exactly the way i would have hoped to be, in a friendly and clean environment. Special extra touches like flowers and magazines in the waiting areas were appreciated. The friendliness and concern of all staff is a credit to their professions. Thank you everyone. Two small criticisms are that a gown was not offered at radiotherapy sessions and whilst this didn't bother me, it may well distress other patients at a time when their body image is fragile. Waiting times due to the linear accelerators being out of action was very wearing to elderly and sick patients some of whom had already spent a large part of the day in the hospital. Over all i would and have recommended breast cancer care at q.a. as being of a high standard.
