As many of these other comments have shown, getting in touch with the eye clinic ito speak to someone is a nightmare! The number given on the letter (which just rings out continually or is engaged) or the general 0300 number (which gets answered but you get put through to a a different answerphone each time) was a real problem and I was sharing the frustrations written here. The solution I found was to call the Patient Information and Liason Service (PILS) which was a freephone number from a landline - 08081 788337. They are open 10am - 4pm and the phone was answered very fast. I explained the information I needed and that I was having issues speaking to anyone at the eye clinic. The lady who I spoke to was fantastic - she emailed the dept on my behalf to ask them to call me, then she called me back just 20mins afterwards to update me>I was then contacted the next day by the dept itself. They then rang me again to check I was happy and all had been sorted. I can not thank the PILS team enough for their fast and efficient help and would advise others to use this service if they need to speak directly with someone: http://www.leicestershospitals.nhs.uk/patients/patient-welfare/patient-information-and-liaison-service/ Many thanks!
