I was admitted to Nottingham City Hospital suffering with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia in June. I was first of all fitted with a Hickman Line, which went horribly wrong, and caused infection after infection. It was eventually removed and one fitted the other side. This turned out to be just the same, and I was extermely ill. The Chemo was duly completed and I was sent home after nine weeks.
During this time, the standard of medical and nursing care was excellent and the cleanliness of the hospital was also excellent. The worst thing did seem to be shortage of staff, and a lot of the organization left a lot to be desired.
