"Poor treatment following admission for TIA"

About: Gloucestershire Royal Hospital

Found to AF on admission not had the condition previously. CT and dopplers carried out. NO CHEST EXTRA NO ECHOCARDIOGRAM. Discharged immediately after intravenous furosemide forty minute journey home uncomfortable and embarrassing. Failed to recover on return home private appointment with specialist and echocardiogram found heart not working correctly. Also ultrasound found free fluid in abdomen. Had GRH taken the time to look at the patient as a whole and carried out an echocardiogram treatment could have been commenced earlier. I consider the standard of treatment very poor. My husband is still under going investigations with a cardiologist a speciality he should have seen in GRH. It would seem that he was a victim of a conveyor belt system which simply wanted to move him out as quickly as possible to free up a bed.
