"Referal to the Fracture Clinic"

About: The Princess Royal Hospital (Telford)

I was referred to the Fracture Clinic 3 weeks ago by my doctor with a suspected broken wrist. I went to A&E and was treated as quickly as possible. all the staff were fantastic, I came away with a plaster and arranged to go back the next day. The consultant who saw my wrist confirmed it needed to be plastered, but not only did he do that but he went the mile extra and also insisted on having a scan of my calf done as i was limping badly and I said I thought I had torn my calf muscles. The consultant wanted to make sure I did not have any Deep Vein Thrombosis. I was very lucky to have such a thorough consultant. he found three. The staff in other departments were fantastic , they arranged for the district nurses to come in, looked after me, and ensured I knew about my medication. When an ambulance was called out a week later because I had breathing difficulties, again I could not fault any of the staff, the ambulance service , doctors and nurses in their care of me. Thank you all very very much

That sounds amazing, particularly with the consultant going the extra mile to find the Deep Vein Thrombosis. Thanks for taking the time and trouble to let us know, and all the best for your future health and wellbeing.
