"A&E outstanding kindness of staff on a very busy..."

About: Watford General Hospital

The thoughtfulness and care of all of the staff who we came into contact with on 6th April in A&E, the paramedic and the ambulance staff was outstanding; not just for the patient but for the family as well. My 84 year old father had collapsed due to a heart condition. He was treated with dignity and respect and the family was made to feel welcome and not in the way despite the department being extremely busy as it was a Saturday. Although the staff must have been under huge pressure as the department was full, the beds and corridors, and the waiting room had lots of people in it as we left, every member of staff who spoke to us behaved as if they were in good spirits and was very friendly.

Thank you for adding your kind comments about your experience at Watford General with us. Considering your understandable anxiety, we're delighted to hear that both you and your father’s experience with us was just as you would have hoped. Despite the nature of their job, the A&E team value giving a personal, professional and timely service, and its great to hear of them recognised in this way. We will ensure your feedback is passed onto the team, who will undoubtedly be delighted to receive it. If you wish to pass on your comments about the East of England Ambulance Service, please do contact them through http://www.nhs.uk/services/trusts/overview/defaultview.aspx?id=29234 We wish you both the very best.
