"missed diagnosis"

Disgusted! My son, a 30wk ex prem, has Chronic lung disease and Ventricular Fibrillation. both serious life conditions. he's 6months old and has a wheezy breathing issue. as it's a Easter bank holiday, I rang 111 who forwarded me to a doctor who arranged an app at Bridgwater hospital. I arrived at my time and got seen almost immediately. I explained my child's conditions, to which he asked me to explain I detail as he had never heard of VF (a life threatening heart condition) and then looked baffled and said 'I'm not good with babies'. he listened to his chest, said its clear, took his stats and sent us on our way telling us there's nothing wrong with him. as he has all these previous conditions I knew he was wrong! after a bad night and my lbs breathing getting worse, I took him back down to Paeds at Musgrove where he is well known. with the best care ever, he was immediately diagnosed with Croup! a condition which narrows the airways due to a virus. in my lb condition it can be serious. I'm furious the doctor didn't have a clue what was wrong ! I will never come back and make my story well known. my son is still in hospital under close obs and treatment. truely appalled
