"Baby daughter with cellulitus"

About: The James Cook University Hospital

Initially we were taken through to the children's section at a and e, and pretty quickly a nurse looked Alice over. The waiting room filled up and we were asked to wait in a children's bay. We waited for some time here maybe an hour or more, but eventually a specialist appeared to look at her hand. He said blood tests were needed and it would be easier on the paediatric ward. Long storey short Alice was admitted and spent the next 3 days on ward 21. The staff were all wonderful and I can't praise them enough. Thanks for taking good care of my baby girl. We have a check up appointment later this week to make sure everything is as it should be which is reassuring.

Good afternoon Thank you for your kind words regarding the treatment that your daughter, Alice, received from The James Cook University Hospital. It is always pleasing to receive words of thanks and I very much appreciate you taking the time to contact the Trust. I shall certainly pass on a copy of your feedback to the staff who were involved in Alice's care. It may interest you to know the Trust runs a ‘Thank You Award’ scheme where NHS colleagues, patients and relatives can nominate staff in recognition of their work. These are presented throughout the year for acts above the call of duty or where staff have shown exceptional kindness towards patients and their relatives. Please contact the chairman’s office on 01642 854151 or email deborah.jenkins@stees.nhs.uk With best wishes Mrs Linda Oliver Patient Experience Co-ordinator
