"Well done, Ocean A Ward!"

About: Queen's Hospital (Romford)

I spent 7 days at Queens recently as a consequence of an emergency admission. I waited over 8 hours in A&E - far too long, arduous and not good enough. However, my patient experience changed when allocated onto Ocean A ward. My individual needs required a lot of understanding and communication with the staff on the ward to ensure that my dignity and wellbeing remained intact whilst I was being treated for my medical condition. From the ward Matron through to the Nursing Assistants, the service and support I received was excellent. The staff were very in-tune with what I required and worked to support me in a way that best met my needs. I would like to thank all of the staff on Ocean A for their dedication, hard work and the excellent service they provided. At no time did I feel vulnerable - this was a very positive patient experience.
